John Hiester went to school to be a diesel mechanic. When he got his certificate, he decided that was not the direction he wanted to go. So, he started selling cars with Leith Automotive in 1986, advancing through sales into finance and insurance, then sales manager and general sales manager. In 1992, John went to work for Darryl Burke Chevrolet in Fuquay-Varina. Ten years later, John purchased Paul Bailey Chevrolet in Angier, North Carolina, which became John Hiester Chevrolet. Since then, John has continued to grow his business to include four dealership locations, two Chevrolet locations and two Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram locations, as well as an AC Delco Wholesale Parts Distributorship that he bought in 2017.

 

 John has served on the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association board since 2015 where he currently serves as Chairman. He has been recognized in the community, too, serving as former president of the Chamber of Commerce, former Board Treasurer for Cary Christian School, was named Angier Man of the Year in 2008, and currently serves on an advisory board for First Bank. Recently, he released a book called Why Jacob Matters.  He is an avid fisherman and a pilot. John has been a leadership and motivational speaker for several years speaking to various organizations and leadership groups across the country.
